The Festive Season is well and truly on us but we don’t have to throw our normally “good” eating patterns out the window. The scales can still be our friend at this time of year. Follow these steps to have your Christmas cake and eat it too – and feel less guilty about it all!
Start your day with a Vita Diet shake
If the big traditional Christmas lunch is on the menu, then start your day with a Vita Diet supplement shake. You will still give your body the morning rev-up it needs and you will feel happier knowing you are not over-indulging for at least one meal of the day.
The biggest weight gain culprit during the festive season is alcohol!
Your body will burn the energy from alcohol before it burns energy from carbohydrates, fats and proteins. That means alcohol will slow fat burning. Have the best of both worlds by drinking water between drinks, choosing low calorie mixers such as soda water, mineral water or diet soft drink.
The first bite tastes better than the 10th bite
Don’t overfill your plate. If it’s an indulgent dish, you don’t have to avoid it. Just don’t eat too much of it. Aim for a few bites and don’t go back for seconds, thirds… or fourths.
Don’t eat for the sake of eating
Just because there is a bowl of chips in front of you doesn’t mean you need to eat them all. If you find you are nibbling uncontrollably, try sitting a tray of carrot, celery, capsicum sticks in front of you. You will still get the crunch but without the calorie punch. Chewing gum is another distraction to slow down on unnecessary snacking.
The last thing we want is for you to be obsessing over your weight at this time of year. We want you to enjoy the silly season and all of its indulgences, but keep these tips in mind to keep the extra kilograms at bay. That’s a Christmas present you don’t want!
